Actual pronunciation rules for Sea Wolf names (aka their funny conlang):

  • If you're a native English speaker, your first guess is probably right for the most part. Like seriously that's going to cover the majority of sounds.
  • Just gotta find the delineation between the compound words, anyways. Kelthylt is not "kel-theel-t", it's Kelt Hylt (Cold Forest) so it's "kelt-heel-t".
  • "y" in a word is pronounced like ee: Lyng (long) would be pronounced "leeng."
  • "oe" in a word is pronounced like oo: Loef (leaf) would be pronounced "loof."
  • "w" in a word should actually straddle the english V and W sounds, but that's weird so if the voice actors don't have to do it we don't either.

This does mean that strictly speaking, Roegadyn is pronounced "roo-gah-deen."
My experience in roe linkshells is people like to bring it up, nod, and then continue saying "roh-gah-din" unless they're thinking about it. We were using it for puns.

My second-favorite "same color" prank in Paleo Pines are the Carnotaurus who have decided to come in two purple-orange color schemes. You may look at the above picture and think, "uhh are those... NOT the same? The second one's just darker and more blue because of the rainy day lighting..." and you would almost be correct, but nay! Having now checked in person I can confirm they're not QUITE identical:

Yes I was looking into this because I saw a Carno I wanted. Anyways here's a side-by-side: wild Cloudy Sunset above, me on my Noble below. As you can see, discernable when next to each other... but come on, that's really similar!
